MRS. DALLENBACH 87 YEARS OF AGE

PIONEER RESIDENT OF CHAMPAIGN IN GOOD HEALTH ON BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

Mrs. Rosana Dallenbach celebrated her eighty-seventh birth anniversary today at her home in the Hinds apartment on South Randolph street. Her daughters (sic), Mrs. Lizzie Witt, entertained six of her mother’s oldest friends at dinner in honor of the occasion.

Mrs. Dallenbach, although unable to walks (sic) without crutches, is in very good health. She occupies most of her time by knitting, and only occasionally leaves her home for a short drive.

She was born in Bern county, Switzerland, and came to this country with her parents when about 13 years old.

In 1850 she was married to John Dallenbach in Pittsburg, Pa. They came to Champaign in 1856. Mr. Dallenbach was in business here until his death in 1873 (sic) [actually 1893].

Mrs. Dallenbach is the mother of four sons, John J. William, Fred and George, who live in Champaign and vicinity. Her three daughters are Mrs. Mary Imig of Sheboygan, Wis., Mrs. Emma Clark of Elgin and Mrs. Lizzie Witt, who came here from Chicago three years ago and makes her home with her mother.

Mrs. Dallenbach received floral gifts and other tokens of the occasion.8
